Elisa & Joel got married on a breezy October night last year at the Kotright Centre. It was my unofficial last wedding of the year before I booked three more. I really couldn’t have asked for more than spending my day with these two, their family, and friends. Elisa & Joel were so laid back and fun to work with, and that reflects in the photographs. You can really feel their love to each other touch you with every moment captured, not to mention the sweet dance floor moves I noticed from some of the guests. What a great night!
My 2nd shooter for the day, Chris Luna, and myself started shooting Elisa and Joel as they were getting ready each in their parents’ house. Since it was an early ceremony, Elisa and Joel decided to go old school and see each other for the first time walking down the aisle. It is always such a powerful moment to see the groom waiting to see his wife to be walk towards him and their future life together as partners forever. The ceremony took place outside right in the middle of the conservation with the trees as our backdrop and the singing birds as the soundtrack. It was so beautiful and emotional and to be honest I did not expect less from these two. They are such wonderful people and the love they share for each other is hard to describe.
After taking some family photos we walked around and took some shots with the wedding party and finally with Elisa & Joel. I absolutely love that shadow shot we got with the bug in Joel’s mouth! It’s so quirky and fun!
Fun Fact: Right after we took that sparklers shot we got stuck on the roof. It took 15 freezing minutes that seemed like forever to get back on the dance floor. Totally worth it!
